This degree programme is offered in English only. The degree is conferred on a student who successfully completes at least 120 credits of coursework in Computer Science at honours level. Consult G Regulations G.16 to G.29

A BSc (Real Estate) degree or an equivalent three-year bachelor’s degree at NQF level 7 (or NQF level 6 for qualifications obtained before 2009) from an accredited institution.

The Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology at the University of Pretoria is a leading source of graduates in the engineering, built environment and information technology professions. The Faculty is organised in four schools: the School of Engineering, the School for the Built Environment, the School of Information Technology and the Graduate School of Technology Management. The School of Engineering is the largest of its kind in the country in terms of student numbers, graduates and research contributions and offers programmes in all the major engineering disciplines with many specialisations also offered at undergraduate and graduate level.

The University of Pretoria aims to be internationally competitive while also locally relevant.  Advisory boards at both faculty and departmental level promote alignment and excellence in our teaching and research activities. Where applicable and available our programmes are accredited by statutory and professional bodies at both national and international level.

Admission requirements

BSc degree majoring in Computer Science, from a South African university with a weighted average of at least 60% over all third-year modules in the Computer Science major or BIS (Multimedia) degree from the University of Pretoria with a weighted average of at least 60% for Software Engineering (COS 301) (or equiavalent) and at least three third-year Computer Science modules or equivalent degree (SAQA-accredited) with a weighted average of at least 60% over all final-year modules in the Computer Science major An entrance/admissions examination may be required
